논문 초록 (Abstract)

Nickel-doped MoS2 supported on alumina catalysts were synthesized using Keggintype single precursors (NixH3-2xPMo12O40) and evaluated for the hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) of waste plastic pyrolysis oil (WPPO). The ion exchange efficiency of Ni2+ into phosphomolybdic acid (H3PMo12O40) was strongly influenced by the Ni source. Nickel carbonate enabled higher exchange and better precursor stability compared to nickel nitrate. Despite low Ni loading (< 2 wt. %), the single precursor-derived catalysts exhibited higher HDN activity compared to conventional NiMo/Al2O3 catalysts. Structural analyses (XRD, Raman, TEM) revealed that the single precursor approach promoted the formation of Type II NiMoS active phases with improved stacking and exposure of active edge sites. Among them, the catalyst derived from nickel carbonate exchanged precursor showed the highest activity, attributed to enhanced Ni-Mo-P interactions and absence of detrimental counter-ions. These findings highlight the effectiveness of single precursor strategies in designing advanced hydrotreating catalysts for upgrading WPPO.
