논문 초록 (Abstract)
Because of its good mechanical properties epoxy is used as matrix material of Carbon Fiber ReinforcedPlastic (CFRP) for lightweight railway vehicles. However, when exposed to fire, CFRP is easily pyrolyzed. In thisstudy, carbon fiber/phenol composite, which has pyrolysis temperature higher than that of epoxy, was used to improvethis situation. To make carbon fiber/multi-resin composite, carbon fiber/epoxy and carbon fiber/phenol prepregs werelaminated separately to form layers of each resin. After the lamination, it was co-cured by hot-press process. The resultsof fire safety test using a cone-calorimeter showed that the case, which consists of 10 layers of carbon fiber/epoxy and5 layers of carbon fiber/phenol, secures better fire safety performance than that of the carbon fiber/epoxy composite,including such factors as ignition time, maximum HRR (Heat Release Rate), and MARHE (Maximum Average Rate ofHeat Emission), while minimizing the amount of carbon fiber/phenol prepreg usage
