논문 초록 (Abstract)

In this paper, study was conducted of laminate composite frames to reduce the weight of rolling stock. Aunidirectional carbon fiber/epoxy composite and a woven carbon fiber/epoxy composite were applied to the body frameof rolling stock. In order to verify the method for the numerical analysis applied to the laminate composite frame, theresults from a structural test and a numerical analysis were compared. The error was below 7.78%, verifying the reliabilityof the method for numerical analysis. The verified numerical analysis method was applied to compare the specificstiffness of the conventional aluminum body frame with that of the laminate composite frame. For this, laminatecomposite frames having a specific stiffness similar to that of the aluminum frame were designed. The results show thatthe frame made of the woven carbon fiber/epoxy composite provided the greatest weight reduction (54.05%) in comparisonwith the conventional aluminum frame.
